Oculus Rift Pre-Orders To Open On January 6

Oculus today announced that it will open pre-orders for its Rift virtual reality headset at 8am PST on the 6th of January, but hasn’t said when the headsets will actually start arriving or how much they will cost.

Oculus founder Palmer Luckey will also run a Reddit AMA session that same morning, and Oculus has said that it will be “sharing everything you need to know to order your Rift on Wednesday when pre-orders go live”.

Previous reports had suggested that the headset could ship with the Oculus Touch motion control, but in aq statement released on new years eve the company announced the release has been pushed back to the second half of 2016.

Oculus will also ship every Rift headset with the Lucky’s Tale game, and those who pre-order will receive a copy of EVE: Valkyrie.
